Downtown Deer at Bay of Fundy's St. Andrews-by-the-sea

The benefits of being pestered into sunrise dog walks. A doe and her fawn at the college aquaculture facility across the street, not particularly upset by us. It's been a bumper year for
fawns in town.

More Snow! Tough Times for Deer

This deer was peeking up over a huge road-side snowbank. Few tracks in their usually places along highway 1 between St. George and St. Stephen, yesterday. They must be tightly yarded up somewhere handy their regular hangouts. Let us know how wildlife is doing in your area of Quoddy.

Whitetail Deer in Winter

Did the loop today from St. Andrews to Oak Bay and saw over twenty whitetailed deer. The yard near highway one at Digdequash had over a dozen and there were 8 crossing the dangerous ice at Digdequash basin.

Saw about 8 or so belonging to the St. Andrews herd at the Biological Station, Joe's Point.

The big storm more than a week ago was a blessing for Charlotte County blueberry growers, because it protects the plants from deer.

Whatever draws them, Charlotte County deer return to their old winter haunts around Pennfield and St. George every year.
