Quoddy will really get WILD as Billy arrives!

No videos or pictures in your ILQW email? See them at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com

Could be an interesting day tomorrow as the Quoddy Region gets the wind and rain from Hurricane Bill(y) which will likely track along the Nova Scotia shore. Expect some storm surge at high tide around 2:30 pm, Sunday, August 23, 2009.

Take care! Take pictures! Send your best ones along to artmackay.ilovequoddywild@blogger.com and we will post them for the world to see.

Bay of Fundy Fog Crisis Continues - Fog Bailer lost!

See the pictures and subscribe at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com

I was sooo excited that I had found a design for an ancient fog bailer. Unfortunately I just linked through to the publication at Gutenburg.org. Well it seems that was a no-no since a big ugly yellow "no-no" announcement appeared in place of the drawing on this blog. Since we are all into beauty, I removed it as soon as I saw it.

Unfortunately, I can't find it again so I am unable to insert it back into the post. The fog bailer is lost ... AGAIN!

Woe is me ... woe is me!

More Snow! Tough Times for Deer

This deer was peeking up over a huge road-side snowbank. Few tracks in their usually places along highway 1 between St. George and St. Stephen, yesterday. They must be tightly yarded up somewhere handy their regular hangouts. Let us know how wildlife is doing in your area of Quoddy.

Thanks.

Campobello Snowstorm

Campobello, after the snowstorm.

The snow had begun in the gloaming,
And busily all the night
Had been heaping field and highway
With a silence deep and white.
Every pine and fir and hemlock
Wore ermine too dear for an earl,
And the poorest twig on the elm tree
Was ridged inch deep with pearl.

Horned Grebes and Surf

Surf at Herring Cove, Campobello Jan 30th,2009
A beautiful afternoon on the beach, if you could get to the sand past the sheer ice. About 10 horned grebes paddling around with the eider ducks just off the beach.
