Mary, Tim, Casper and Tupper with friends on Simpson Hill
No videos or pictures in your ILQW email? See them at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com
Tim and I, with Casper and Trooper, took a long overdue trek up Simpson Hill today. We were happy to see that a number of people had been hiking over the last couple of weeks. On the way up Valley Trail, Casper HAD to avail himself of Mamie's Pool. A short distance further on, we "stumbled upon" a garter snake dozing in the sun... then another one slithered into view and gave us a once-over before retreating under an old mossy branch.
Enjoy the warmth!

Snapping Road Hazards!
See the pictures and subscribe at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com
Marg and I played traffic cop for this medium sized snapping turtle crossing the Kerr's Ridge Road today, June 28, 2009.
Evenually, it disappeared into the roadside vegetation.
