Jim Wilson just posted some bird sightings to NB Natures Listserv, including the following:
And finally, as we came to Bloomfield on the Kennebecasis River we found a handsome GLOSSY IBIS (Ibis falcinelle) feeding in the flooded field on the north side of the road and the west side of the river, between the steel and covered bridges. The bird was striking in the evening sun and I checked it
very carefully for the possibility of it being a White-faced. But definitely no - the bird had a dark eye and a blue-black face that rules out any possibility.

Subject: Two Glossy Ibis at Hammond River Today
Jean, Joanne Savage and I spent four hours at the Point Lepreau Bird
Observatory this morning, but more about that later. As we were returning
home about noon we saw two dark ibises (presumed GLOSSY IBIS) high in the
air over the intervale area just east of the former Irving Service Station
(now a used car lot) about 1/3 kilometer south of the Hammond River Bridge
on Route 100.
The birds circled high over the entire area for several minutes as if they
were just arriving from some distant place and finally and abruptly began a
steep twisting side-slipping dive to earth in much the same fashion as
migrating geese that I've observed arriving during a long migration. Based
on their actions I believe they may have just come to the area.
They landed to the south of where we were, back in an area of wet ground and
alders toward the Stock Farm Road. We scanned the area from the parking lot
of the former service station but couldn't relocate them. But two Glossy
Ibis ARE in the area right now and may move out into the open later. Many
ducks and gulls are feeding in the open fields and wet areas adjacent.
And an added interest - last evening our neighbour, Ray d'Entremont dropped
by and showed me a photo of a single GLOSSY IBIS he took the evening of
April 15th near the Hammond River Bridge. That was the night before Jean and
I saw the ibis at Bloomfield.
So who knows whether there have been two, three or four Glossy Ibis (at
least) in the Kennebecasis Valley this week.
