Observing Nature First
With spring fast approaching, Nature NB is looking for naturalists to =
help us collect first sighting data from across the province. =20
Nature NB, through financing from the New Brunswick Environmental Trust =
Fund, has embarked on an exciting project to use local first sighting =
data to assess the long-term environmental trends related to climate =
change.
We are currently collecting first sighting information on the following species and events:
Spring Peeper
Groundhog
First snow
American Robin
Chipmunk
Last snow
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Tiger Swallowtail
First frost
Song Sparrow
Mourning Cloak
Last frost
Grackle
Coltsfoot
Ice in lakes (freeze and melt)
Yellow Warbler
Trout Lily
Fall leaves (first color change)
Tree Swallow
Shadbush
Osprey
Bunchberry
