You can see the importance of rockweed for nuturing baby eiders in this photo. They live in the rockweed at the edge of the water before they are able to swim very long. The rockweed feeds and supports them during this period. Rockweed is habitat and it is never a good idea to mine habitat, it is like cutting down the rainforest.
