I watched a black crowned night heron today. I know it is here by the pond at times. I saw it fly, but missed it twice when it was very close and i just did not see it. This bird is invisible unless it moves. Finally i saw it in the road just poking around for worms and insects in the newly graded mud. it was coming toward me and I was hopeful for a really good shot when along came a truck and that was that.
