This barred owl flew into a window at the Roosevelt Campobello International Park office this morning. I assume it was attempting to catch a squirrel on the porch below the window. The owl lay on the ground for a minute, gathered itself up, and flew to the birch tree. We hope the closed eye is a result of one eye looking into the sun, and not of an injury. The bird has since flown from the birch.
