Peace on Simpson's Hill

See the pictures and subscribe at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com

Attached are pics of Cachorro's pool (with Casper in the reflection), and of one the hermit thrushes that serenaded us with its "clear, ethereal, flute-like" songs all evening, This is the first time I have had any luck photographing one, although one really needs a monster lens and a tripod. They are usually impossible to see and very shy about being seen. There were at least three of them singing on the top of Simpson Hill.

The shot of Casper in one of his wallows shows there is no shortage of greenth and dampness here, mushrooms are sprouting and even the pine needles are growing fungus!

The sun did come out briefly during golden hour, however, and it just  doesn't get any prettier or more peaceful.
