Over 130 Porpoise Sightings in Western Passage This Week!

See the pictures and subscribe at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com

We were delighted to receive this email with harbour porpoise sightings off Calder's Point, Deer Island. These data fill a gap in our reports from Western Passage, Passamaquoddy Bay. Hopefully more folks will send their sightings from the Bay and St. Croix Estuary areas as well.

My name is Brady Ryburn and I own a cottage with my partner, Mark Horn, on Deer Island. Jan and Joyce asked us to send you information concerning porpoise counts off Calder's Point, Deer Island. Four people were part of this project during a couple of recent days:

On June 29th, 4 people spotted 39 porpoise off Calder's Point between 1:15 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.
On June 29th, 2 people saw 18 porpoise between 3:45 p.m. until 4:25 p.m.
On June 29th, 1 person counted 14 porpoise between 4:53 p.m.  and 5:35 p.m.
On July 1st, a full day of intermittent viewing (4 total hours) gave a total of 60 porpoise off of Calder's Head.
