I Love Quoddy Wild feature on CBC TV tonight - July 21, 2009

See the pictures and subscribe at http://ilovequoddywild.blogspot.com

ILQW has made it to TV! Be sure to see our feature tonight on CBC TV Fredericton at supper time.

Yesterday, CBC journalist Chris Corday toured the Quoddy area with us and interviewed some of the ILQW contributors and boosters. Kim Reeder from Quoddy Futures and Ganong Nature Park and two of summer students accompanied us and provided transportation and ILQW T-shirts. Kim's work is supported by funding from New Brunswick's Environmental Trust.

It was a fabulous sunny day and we were able to talk with Danielle Dion of Quoddy Link Marine, Joyce Morrell and Jan Miners from Owen House and Head Harbour Light Station, some of the leaders of the lighthouse restoration project, Mackie Green from the Campobello Whale Rescue Group and others. Unfortunately tide times and ferry schedules prevented us from meeting with Harold at the Roosevellt Campobello International Park and Bruce Smith at Seascape Kayak Tours on Deer Island.

We had great trips on the Deer Island ferries, an insiders tour of the lighthouse, and a whale and seal tour on Mackie Green's tour boat out of Head Harbour wharf. Lots to see as usual ... marine birds, finbacks whales, porpoise, seals, and lots of boats and people.

All and all a great day and we are looking forward to a great little piece that defines the objectives of I Love Quoddy Wild. Be sure to watch CBC at supper time today, July 21 and spread the word!!

Thanks for this Chris!

PS: I'm getting the day's photos together and will be posting a slide show soon.
