Bay of Fundy: Minke Whale in February!

Date: Mon, 14 Feb 2011 18:16:56 -0400 From: Laurie Murison Subject: minke whale Saw a minke whale surface twice between Fish Head and Swallowtail today. The whale was travelling along the coast. This is the first minke whale I have seen in the BOF in February but that doesn't mean they aren't usually here, just that I haven't seen any. They do not have a clearly defined migration as some whales do and have been seen as far south as the Caribbean in the winter. Laurie Murison Grand Manan, NB
