Mackerel Swarming Today up in Big Bay!

Well imagine ... just one day after Joyce sent a great movie by Eleanor Roosevelt showing fish swarming in 1953, my daughters and grandson returned from a kayak trip in northern Passamaquoddy Bay where they got these great shots of mackerel swarming at the mouth of the Bocabec River. Cool, ehh?

  1. Now I am curious what I heard that night in the fog with Harry moored off Sandy Island. I know, after the great splashing sound, (like a sudden deluge of rain and hail), we heard whales breathing, but was it mackerel or herring, and if so, what kind of whales were after them? What are these guys (the fish) freaking out about?
