Joyce Morrell has uploaded to flickr several videos of right whales taken from the Head Harbour Lighthouse at the mouth of Head Harbour Passage at Campobello.

This one is taking it easy at the surface. As Joyce points out,"You can see why they are vulnerable to ship strikes." The presence of huge LNG tankers, powerful tugboats and high speed security boats would raise the risk unacceptably in this narrow and vital passage.

  1. Thanks to all of you in tracking the whales - all of them -to keep those damned LNG tankers out of Head Harbour Passage, which will mean NO terminal in Quoddy bay. I know its a tough fight, but looks like you are all (both sides of the border) - winning.
