Fiona, the yellow lobster at the Huntsman aquarium
Last year, it was Big Dee-Dee. This year, the Huntsman aquarium is home to another rare lobster, only this one isn’t 22 pounds, she’s a yellow rarity. The odds of finding a yellow lobster are in the one in 30 million range, and so when the Huntsman heard about Fiona, who was caught off PEI and landed at a restaurant in Cope Cod, the calls started. Nate Nickerson, owner of Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar in Eastham, Mass., said he couldn’t cook the rare lobster - and so she is now proudly back in Canada, at the aquarium, alongside Big Dee-Dee and Old Blue, the other not-quite-so-rare lobster. To the right is a photo of Old Blue, Fiona, and a ‘regular’ coloured lobster to show the difference!
